The One Step You’re Likely Forgetting On Your Path To Success

Dear Readers:

My schedule has been extremely hectic these past few days, but I am sitting here writing all of you more grateful than ever.  In spite of the fact that I have been away quite a bit as of late, I am “making it happen” as they say (and finding a way to manage keeping a very functional family while at it).  I am currently diving into familiar waters, but so excited to be reaching greater depths and embracing new opportunities.

I must confess that my adrenalin is running high as a result of everything that has been happening.

I’m truly grateful for the many friends I have made over the past few days. I am just as grateful for the many stories that we’ve been able to share with one another. What’s remarkable about these past few weeks is that between all of the flights, speaking engagements and meeting so many new people, I’ve been reminded that sometimes we are so busy moving forward that we don’t take the time to truly appreciate our journey.

I want to share something with all of you: I had an epiphany as I went through my presentation in Panama last week. It suddenly dawned on me that we all have a story filled with struggles and victories alike. While on stage, I realized that I wasn’t only delivering my presentation to the industry professionals that were there, but also taking the time to truly take in my trajectory.

It was in that moment that I realized that I was starting to forget to appreciate the journey and to understand the why’s and how’s instead of simply trying to answer them. Today, I want to encourage all of you to evaluate every step that you’ve taken to become who you are.

Take the time to fully understand and own your mistakes and also take the time to savor your triumphs. Be proud of the highs and the lows. Stay in close touch with the reasons behind why you started in the first place and don’t be afraid to let go of who you aren’t anymore. As we evolve, let us realize that, with evolution comes growth, maturity, and greater appreciation and love of what you do.

Be honest: How often do you check in with yourself and actually appreciate the journey you are on? Do you just push yourself forward without checking in or do you savor the moment you are in and the memories of the ones you have been in, learned from and moved through?

With a Happy Heart,
