I have recently noticed that many of my clients are moving away from silver and asking for more gold. For a while there, it seemed like the color was off-limits, but it’s made a quick comeback, and in a big way.
I personally think that when balanced, it can be absolutely stunning. Take for example this gorgeous cake by the genius cakemaker, Sylvia Weinstock. Sylvia has always had an exceptional eye as well as talent and I love the way she was able to balance out the use of gold in this very classic cake. The end result is very elegant without looking stuffy.
