Every time I visit a different part of the world I’m amazed by the passion that exists in the wedding industry. Even more amazing is how everyone contributes to this passion, regardless of their geographical location. Preston and I have just returned from a week long trip to the Dominican Republic for the Wedding Gallery 2014 event. I have to say, this experience was a super special one. As many of you may already know, I’m a Latina who is extremely proud of her roots, and like Preston, I would love nothing more but to be able to contribute to the growth of the wedding industry in Latin America and worldwide.
Today, I can safely say that visiting the country where I was born made me feel even prouder of both my heritage and my industry. It was remarkable to see everyone come together to celebrate the magic of weddings. We have definitely come a long way! The passion and dedication that the creatives in the Dominican Republic possess is so intense that I left there wanting to be better, to do more, to appreciate more, but above all to give more.
Every person that we interacted with had an amazing story to share. Our host Ivelisse Jose Jorge, from Artis represents the epitemy of a hard-working successful woman in business. Along the same lines, the Velutini family have managed to create a five-star environment that exudes warmth in every corner at the JW Marriott Santo Domingo. I would like to take this moment to thank you for making us feel at home.
Our hope is that the talent in the country continues to flourish and that everyone is able to follow their dreams by daring to be creative and unique as they continue to embrace their individual journeys.
