Ideas That Did Not Work

Dear readers,

As I promised, on my Thursday blog, I’ll be sharing a few Ideas that I have designed and produced, some that I think worked beautifully and others that simply did not work at all.

I have been challenged many times by my brides, to create a new and different way to display the escort cards, that is necessary for most sit down dinner. When you are planning a seated dinner at the wedding reception, escort card tables are one of the first things your guests will see when they arrive.

For those of you who do not know, what an Escort card table is, this is an area or a table, assigned to display the names of the guests along with table numbers what table they’ll seat at all evening.

For this one event, I thought of a smart Idea of creating this standing crystal statement, that I thought would look stunning.

Well, I was wrong. It might seem somewhat Interesting, but as an Escort card display, it failed badly.

For several reasons:
1. All the guests came at the same time, and there were so many at the same time looking for the card with their names that made it even more difficult to find the name on the cards.

2. It took forever for each guest to find a card with personal names and result was the long line of guests for an extended period. That in no way anyone would have loved this scenario.

3. Lesson learned the hard way that, “Not all beautiful Ideas are practical.” But until you try, you don’t know.

Dear Readers:
In your opinion, What went wrong?
