If you are one of the few business owners who have repeat clients, consider yourself blessed. As you may know, most of my business is in the wedding sphere. I happen to love this market for a number of reasons. Not only are we doing all we can to bring the dreams of the bride and groom to life, we are also sharing one of the most special moments in their lives with them. From a business perspective, this is one of the few events where most couples will spend, but there is a real challenge we face; couples only get married once.
In today’s blog, I would like to make three suggestions for those of you looking to entice clients to return for your services for future celebrations.
Picture Perfect: Send them a photo from their wedding with a sweet note (if you think the bride looked radiant, this is where you can tell her). You can get a year’s worth of photos from your friendly photographer.
Remember Their Anniversaries: On their sixth month anniversary, send them a small sample of their centerpiece with a congratulatory note. On their year anniversary, contact their cake maker and send them a small version of their cake with a handwritten note.
…And Also Other Special Days: Sending flowers, notes, chocolates or other small gifts on their birthdays or other days of note (the birth of a baby, perhaps) will surely mean a lot to them.
Many couples confess feeling a slight depression after all of fun and excitement of wedding planning (and the wedding itself) dies down. I know I sure did; extending their big day in this way will help them re-live it a bit. What couple wouldn’t want that?
In the end, it’s about creating a relationship with your client that goes beyond just servicing them on their big day.
Today, I would like you all to please share your ideas for turning one-time events into relationships with repeat clients.
