As many of you know, I have announced the second class in my PB Protégé Program.
After sitting down and speaking with many of you and taking your wonderfully candid emails and calls into consideration, I realized that I needed to go above and beyond the basic lectures and Q and A’s and allow attendees to experience how we go about transforming a space, in real time.
I thought long and hard about how to do this. Ethically, I would not charge my students for materials while getting paid for an event, but I did want to do an actual wedding with all of you, and so I decided to offer one to two couples I knew were engaged if they would agree to move their wedding date and take a chance at allowing myself, my staff and attendees to plan, design and install their wedding.
To my delight, one of the couples said yes.
It is my hope that this course offers not only the insight you have requested, but also a behind-the-scenes look into our process as well as tangible experience you can place on your resume. This is a real event, and you will be helping to design, install and execute it. In addition, my staff and I will be working side-by-side with you as we transform the space from start to finish.
This course is open to any and all who want to attend. Planners, designers, production professionals and florists at any level are welcome. That said, please note that the focus of the course will be on design.
I am truly looking forward to working with all of you and so grateful to have the chance to open my studio once again to those interested in learning from the mistakes and triumphs I have been blessed to experience over the past 35 years.
Question:You have seen many of the raw spaces that we have transformed into a fully designed event. What interests you most when it comes to what you would like to learn more about? Is it our floral designs, hanging structures, lighting or dropping?
