A GROWING DEMAND FOR WEDDING AND EVENT PLANNING CAREERSNEW YORK, NY & ROSEVILLE, CA – To meet the growing demand from brides- and grooms-to-be, the Wedding Planning Institute (LWPI), a division of Lovegevity, Inc. is growing their network of accredited colleges and universities around the world to offer students hands-on training, internships and job placement assistance in wedding and event planning careers.
LWPI’s Wedding and Event Planning Certification program is designed to assist wedding and event planners with starting and growing a wedding and event planning career and is internationally recognized by The Association for Bridal Consultants and The Association for Wedding Professionals International. This comprehensive training program is offered and available through college classrooms, local seminars and online course options. Students have the opportunity to assist at real weddings, work with a professional wedding and event planner, as well as participate in paid and non-paid internships.
“I’m very excited to offer The Wedding Planning Institute’s Certification! There is a lot of interest on how to get started in this new and exciting career,” states Cassandra Smith, Coordinator of Continuing Education for the University of Texas. “In this economy, our students’ success comes from finding a skill or trade they have a passion for and pursuing their education to make it happen.”
Colleges and universities across the U.S. are supporting the growing demand for wedding and event planners by offering 10-week classroom sessions for spring, summer and fall each year. Students can attend classes and receive their professional certification at the end of the 10 weeks. All graduates of the program may participate in customized internships, job placement assistance, and bridal client referral leads from LWPI.
"New students love the hands-on opportunities offered by our industry veteran instructors. LWPI graduates are better prepared for the reality of the local market and what they can do to obtain their career goals by learning directly from a seasoned wedding and event planner" says Cho Phillips, LWPI's founder and CEO.
