Thinking Outside Of The Vase: Wall Statements
May 11, 2016
As many of you may have seen on my Facebook page, one of my amazing PB Protege students created a gorgeous chandelier and incorporated not only the mechanics she learned in our class, but also the screen we sent her home with. Printed screens are one of the most versatile elements to work with and I always enjoy watching the students get creative with them. Over the years, I have seen many people try to do this many different ways and I will say that Sophia got it right.
We not only teach how to make these wall statements (this one is 6 feet X 8 feet) in many of our courses, but also discuss the way to choose the motif to print (which can offer quite the challenge when you’re not accustomed to it). We also share the mechanics required to keep them from dripping water all over the place.
Today I want to ask you how you think we do this. Also, do you use screens? Show me one of your best designs.
