My Thanksgiving Preparations
November 23, 2011
Tomorrow I’m hosting fifty-three friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner, and I can’t wait! Of course, while I may be technically “hosting,” it’s my dear sisters Aminta and Olivia who are the wonderful Panamanian chefs for the day. Every year they treat us to an amazing feast.
My job is to provide the setting, and I love creating a beautiful celebration for my loved ones. One of the great things about being in the wedding and event industry is that I have a helpful little production closet where I store all of my recent design pieces. I let my favorite event designs inspire my Thanksgiving table. The only problem is that I have so many choices…
After much careful deliberation, I’ve decided to use a green and white color palette this year. The green is a reminder that we should be thankful for Mother Earth, and the white is a reminder that we should always be thankful for our divine light.
This year I’m also thankful to be guided every day by God’s love. And, as always, I am thankful for my partner, my family and my friends. They make my life truly special.
Dear Readers, what are you thankful for this year? I’d love to know. Please share!
And be sure to check back here on Friday; I’m going to share photos of my Thanksgiving table and dinner. In the meantime, click here to see pictures of my past Thanksgiving celebrations. Maybe you’ll find something to inspire your own table tomorrow!
