Kathy’s Blog: Showing Gratitude For Something That Is Often Overlooked
November 19, 2015
As the Thanksgiving holiday comes closer, many of us will be thinking about our many blessings and what we are grateful for. Most of us will think of family and friends, health and happiness (all of which should be held with gratitude), but today, I want to encourage all of you to take some time to show appreciation for something that is often overlooked: where you are and who helped you get there.
So many of us get to caught up in achieving our latest goals and dreams that we forget that what we are working through now was once just on a list of things we hoped to experience. We get so caught up in our day-to-day duties and challenges that we forget we are actually living our dream. More than that, we become so used to the amazing men and women who have stood by us, made sacrifices and stayed late to make those achievements possible that we begin to assume they “just know” how much we appreciate them.
This week, I would like to encourage all of you to take a few moments to thank friends, family, staff members and colleagues for their unyielding support and showcase of loyalty and dedication to their jobs and your dream. These few words might be just what they need to feel appreciated, loved, respected and grateful for you.
With a happy heart,
