It’s Not Too Late To Kick The Door Wide Open

Dear Readers:

Definition: January (in Latin, Ianuarius) is named after Janus, the God of beginnings and transitions; the name has its beginnings in Roman mythology, coming from the Latin word for door (ianua).

January is the door to the year.

I love this definition because, for me, it confirms that we should “kick open” doorways that perhaps we were once afraid to explore. There is something to be said about the feelings that come forth once the New Year comes around. It’s almost as if we were given the opportunity to start fresh and everyone looks forward to a clean slate. Looking back on the month, I believe this now more than ever.

I’ve always taken January and it’s meaning literally and I would like to take this moment to encourage all of you to carry this energy into February and every month that follows.  The truth of the matter is that there is no better time to be bold than right here and now.

I dare you to unlock the gates of success, love, clarity, and health during this month. That of course, doesn’t mean that you need rush to it. Contrary to what everyone else does, I ease into the New Year. Besides, there is no written rule that everything that you once knew has to change come January first or any other day you decide to make a change. If you have gotten a late start in making and keeping resolutions, don’t be discouraged.  Every single day is a new chance at creating the life you love.

Here are some tips that have proven to be successful for me in the past years.

Avoid setting too many goals at once.
Change your habits gradually.
Commit to finding yourself first before changing something about you.
Don’t measure your resolutions against others’.
Always do the things that make you genuinely happy.

My wish for you this year is that you focus on all the positives in your life and pace yourself on changing the negatives. Take your time and find your groove. May you find peace with of all of your decisions and may love always be a part of the outcome.

With a Happy Heart,
