It’s my opinion: “People will forget what you said and did, buy they will never forget how you made them feel.

It’s my opinion: “People will forget what you said and did, buy they will never forget how you
made them feel.” _ Maya Angelou

How could I not agree with the late Maya Angelou beautiful words of wisdom? I think, this
quote should be the goal for every single wedding or event that we do.

For this reason, it drives me nuts, whenever I give a speech or interviewed for a Magazine or
TV, and I get the following question repeated times:

“Preston, don’t you think it’s a big waste to use all those flowers and do all that work, just for
one day?”

Continue……. Won’t it be better to give all that money to a charity?

Obviously, these folks do not get it. We are in the business of creating lifetime memories.
We are in the business of helping our clients create just that; a feeling and a memory that
would last for a life time.

This past weekend, I attended a party in New York, and by chance I ran into two of my former
brides. The first thought was, God, hope they are still married. And to my joy, my beautiful
former brides were happily married.

Both the brides were very excited to see me and did not miss the opportunity of thanking me once again for creating not only the lifetime memories for them, their families, and also bringing an over the top experience to the guests that they’ll never forget.

I would conclude by saying, Oh yes, we do use a lot of flowers, and Yes, at times we spend
many sleepless nights, and absolutely yes, all that money could be donated to the charity.

But then Maya Angelou resonates in my ears as a reminder to be true to what I do, who
said, “People would never forget how you made them feel.”

Question:

Do you think using flowers in abundance to decorate a wedding is a waste? Do you agree that
maybe all that cash should go to charities?
