How “Real” Are You Willing To Be?
March 5, 2014
First, I want to thank all of you for your candid responses and emails to yesterday’s Dear Preston question and also to those of you who have emailed me your wonderfully open, honest and touching emails in response to the Miami Mentorship Opportunity I am offering.
Your stories have really touched me. One of the things I have always appreciated is being “real” with those around you and with yourself. Accepting that we do not know it all or execute everything we do “perfectly” is not only about remaining humble, but also benefits us as artists in that it helps us to stay creative and inspired.
That constant “chase” and search for something “more” is the driving force of just about any artist you speak to. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful aspects of the human soul. To be inspiring, one must be inspired, and to be inspired, one must be open and vulnerable.
Today, I would like to ask you all to share something that you would like to be better at. Don’t be embarrassed or worried about judgement, be open and if you have some advice for someone, share your story!
