ELABORATE AND COSTLY WEDDING AND EVENT DESIGNS ON MINIMAL BUDGETS, Preston's blog, Preston Bailey Flowers, Preston Bailey's book, floral design, florist, wedding flowers
My new book, Preston Bailey Flowers, arrives in bookstores at the end of the month. This is my fifth book, and, as most of you know, all of my books celebrate the events and weddings I’ve been fortunate enough to design. I’m always incredibly honored when someone tells me that my books inspire them, because I too have an extensive library of books that inspire my work. I have several books that feature designs by the brilliant architect Santiago Calatrava as well as the extremely talented floral architect Daniel Ost, and I can never get enough of them!

However, there is one complaint I hear time and again; vendors tell me that their clients bring in copies of my books and request my high-end designs at very minimal costs. This puts vendors in a tough spot; remember, most of the designs in my books were done with very large budgets. That being said, I’m always amazed at the phenomenal creativity of so many vendors, who are able to create stunning interpretations of my work.

Dear Readers, has a client ever brought you a picture of an elaborate design and asked that you replicate it on a small budget? If so, what did you do? I’d love to know how you handle this situation!
