Behind-The-Scenes: Five Ways To Attract New Clients
July 1, 2015
I am at a loss. I have no idea how to get new clients and I am feeling desperate at this point; do you have any suggestions?
That is the million dollar question. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made was actually spending very little tome and concentration on sales. I do not have a definitive answer for you, but I do have some suggestions that might help you in your acquisition of new clients.
Create a story. There is no bigger sales sin than a boring story. Create a sales pitch that is short and to the point, but also has something that will grab the interest of your audience. My pitch begins with, “I am in the business of transforming spaces.”
Sell something unique. If you are selling the same services or ideas as others, you are being lazy. Work daily to create your own unique services and come up with as many ideas as possible. I may come up with ten ideas and only two that are good enough to sell.
Don’t be negative. Negativity is limiting so don’t indulge it. You need to have a very positive attitude and truly believe that you are going to do what it takes to get and please your clients. I have never met a successful person with a negative outlook. My driving force has always been a blind belief that my God would always provide for me.
Stay active. You must put aside at least one hour a day to work solely on your sales and marketing. Do not feel badly about dedicating your time to this (or not having done it up until now). It is not until very recently that I began to make a point of spending two hours a day on this.
Education yourself. Read every single book that you can get your hands on. I am currently reading “NewSales. Simplified” by Mike Weinberg and am finding it very useful.
What is your best sales strategy for acquiring new clients? Do you have one? Be honest.
