Behind-The-Scenes: Design Gone Wrong

Dear Readers:
I am in the process of writing my new book “Preston Bailey’s Greatest Mistakes”.  As I look through the thousands of pictures, I am in awe of some of the work we have done. But once in a while I come across a photo (such as the floral display above) and I stop and wonder… what the heck was I thinking?
The Backstory: We had the intentions of creating an outdoor floral fountain (using all fresh flowers).   Looking back, I think we were doing fine with covering the holder with moss and were still OK with the blue hydrangeas used to mimic the water portion of the fountain, but then we went a bit crazy. What is that orange drape doing there? That has no place being there just because it was one of the colors of the wedding.
Talk about a big no, no!
Adam Osborne once said something very interesting about mistakes. “The most valuable thing you can make is a mistake.
You can’t learn anything from being perfect,” he said. I definitely learned.
O.K., I can take it, folks; Where do you think I went wrong with this? Be as candid as you’d like, but do tell me what you would have done differently.
