Becoming a Person of Value
January 11, 2012
I have so much admiration for Albert Einstein, and the above quote is one of my all-time favorites. It’s also the driving force of my business. Another one of my favorite quotes is this one from Steve Farber:
“Do what you love in the service of people who love what you DO.”
That quote, too, has had a huge influence on the way I run my business.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about these quotes and how they relate to one another. Here are three ways that I try to create value for the clients who love what I do:
1. Be your own greatest asset and always ask yourself these questions: Why should they hire me? Am I willing to go the extra mile for my clients? Am I rigid or flexible?
2. Provide great service and a great design or product. Ask yourself: Are you more interested in making a sale or giving the client what he or she really wants?
3. Give. Clients are much more likely to happily pay for something if they believe it is worth more than what they are paying. Make sure that whatever you’re selling has value.
Let’s follow Mr. Einstein’s advice and work on being people of value. Every. Single. Day.
Dear Readers, what are the quotes and the people who have inspired your work and your business? Please share.
