5 Ways To Be Better and Do Better Every Day

Being that most of us in this industry tend to be artists and dreamers, it’s no surprise that many of us feel as though we need to exist in a perpetual state of reinvention. I don’t know about you, but this happens to me every time I work with a new client. While self-improvement is an essential component of success and personal growth, it is important to understand that each of our clients bring with them a new set of responsibilities, challenges, expectations, feelings, and outcomes. How we choose to measure our success as we face these challenges can be tricky.
Today I’d like you to take a few minutes to share some of the practices that have proved to work for me when I feel under the pressures of our daily routine whether at work or on a personal basis.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s OK to not know something or not have the capabilities to do everything yourself.
Don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every project is as unique as the client so treat them as such. Just because something worked for you before may not work for you with another client. It’s not personal.
Learning from your mistakes is paramount, but dwelling on them is detrimental. Practice eliminating “mental clutter” by focusing on extracting the lesson and taking steps to move forward.
Remain open to new ideas and processes. There is a whole world out there and in it are some very good ideas we have never heard.
Accept that some days will be better than others and always allow your love for and belief in the work you’re doing guide you.
