People always ask me if I can predict whether a marriage will work out or not, and I always answer by saying that I never think that way. What I concentrate on is the joy the bride and the groom have in that moment. Having had experience in being in so many relationships myself, I have to say that each relationship is a learning lesson.
As Melissa commented on the last Bride Spotlight I wrote, “Even if something ends, it does not mean that you did not wait for ‘the one.’ Romance is often a much deeper thing than what we think when we first start out.”
I wanted to feature this wonderful bride today because it had to be the most fun wedding I’ve ever worked on. (I even got to meet the best man, Michael Jackson).
This was also, by far, one of the most publicized weddings I’ve ever worked on. I had worked with Liza previously so I had some experience with what she wanted.
What’s the biggest learning lesson you’ve ever had from a previous relationship? I’d love to know.

Biggest lesson: Don’t despair about never ever being able to meet anyone like this ever again. Anything you think is absolutely wonderful and perfect, there is always a better one in existence just waiting for you to discover. When you do, you wonder what in the world was so perfect about the previous.
.
This reminds me of shopping for furniture or flowers. When you find the perfect item, it has a “Sold” sign on it or “Out of Stock”. You suck it up and keep shopping. Sooner or later you connect with the item that makes you cringe at the thought of purchasing the previous. That’s just my lesson

The biggest lesson I’ve learned from relationships is when love calls, you better answer…

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from relationships, is never settle for less and realize all people have flaws and you have to choose whether you can “truly” live with
his/her’s flaws forever without sacrificing “you” and this should be vice versa.
Then go on and plan that dream wedding!

I totally agree with Toni-Marie…very well said.
I think Sonia was a little harsh with her statement, “there is always a better one in existence just waiting for you to discover. When you do, you wonder what in the world was so perfect about the previous.”
There are some people that have been in a sour relationship over and over and there are other’s that have experienced true love during the first time around. I was fortunate to experience the “better one in existence” the first time around almost 30 years ago (May 18th).

I have met Liza backstage in Las Vegas as one of my best friends is also her choreographer as good friend of over 40 years, Ron Lewis. I worked with him for 6 years in Las Vegas before he went back on tour with Liza a few years ago. It’s so great that you did her wedding, simply gorgeous. Hopefully I will get to entertain at one of your events sometime, I usually travel quite a bit for corporate and private events even though I have a show in Las Vegas….. When you come to Las Vegas for any reason please come to my show at Planet Hollywood Resort at 7pm nightly. You’ll be my guest of honor.
All the best,
Larry G Jones
