As wary as I am of any events lasting longer than three hours, exceptions can be made. Such was the case for last week’s book launch of Preston Bailey’s Celebrations (Rizzoli). For those of you who aren’t a sheikh or a sultan — or Oprah Winfrey, Uma Thurman, Donna Karan or Donald Trump — Preston Bailey is the celebrity event designer known for his sumptuous, theatrical soirees, most of which are never seen by the public.
